Every year the Government of Japan together with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, MEXT scholarship, and other institutions offer a wide variety of scholarships for all levels of training.

3. Undergraduate and graduate degrees Mext Scholarship

  1. 1 year Japanese course

What can you study:

4. MEXT Scholarship for Higher School of Technology

  • Complete 11 years of education abroad.
  • Have completed your studies in a secondary school equivalent to one in Japan.
  • Take and pass an academic exam in Japan, which will be equivalent to a person who has completed 11 years of study in the host country.
  • Have an IB diploma from the International Baccalaureate.
  • Apply and be accepted to one of the 51 Colleges of Technology.
  • Be between 17 and 25 years old.

5. MEXT Sholarship for Specialized training

6. To study Japanese

You can perform:

  • an exchange of a maximum of 1 year, where you can access one of the following courses: A course to improve your command of the Japanese language or a course to study about Japan and its culture.

Specific requirements:

  1. Have a maximum of 30 years.
  2. Applicants must be undergraduate/graduate/bachelor’s students at foreign universities majoring in fields related to Japanese language or culture at the time of arrival and departure from Japan.
  3. Participants must return to their home country at the end of the last month of the scholarship and continue studying at their home institution.

7. JASSO Scholarships

  • Monthly maintenance of 370 euros for undergraduate / graduate
  • In the case of students from Japanese language institutions,  €230 per month.

Requirements:

  • Apply to and be accepted by a higher education institution in Japan.
  • Academic excellence.
  • Proficiency in Japanese or English which must be certified.

  • Be eligible to apply for a student visa to study in Japanese territory.
  • Not receive another scholarship or financial aid from the Japanese government or from any institution in your country of origin.

8. Exchange scholarships

You offer the monthly maintenance of 610 euros.

An exchange of maximum 1 year can be made for the different levels (undergraduate, courses, technologies, among others)

Requirements:

  1. Have nationality of one of the countries with diplomatic relations with Japan such as: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, among others.

  3. Not having the financial means to study in Japan.
  4. Have a student visa for Japanese territory.
  5. Academic excellence.

9. World Bank

It covers:

  3. 3 years work experience in the field of development.

  7. Not belong to the staff of the World Bank Group.

10. Rotary and Peace Scholarships

It covers

  • full payment of studies

  • monthly stipend for room, board and transportation.

Requirements:

  2. Fluent in English (7 IELTS or 90 TOEFL).
  3. Commitment to international understanding and peace.
